MTHE hosts US Ambassador to Sierra Leone

The Ministry of Technical and Higher Education has held a meeting with the United States (US) Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Sierra Leone, Ambassador David Reimer, to discuss key areas of educational support at its Conference Room.
In his statement, Ambassador David Reimer, thanked the Ministry for hosting him in such an important meeting, expressing his interest in getting the views of the Ministry in respect of its goals and priorities. He noted his Embassy's Public Affairs Section's core mandate in working with the education sector, stating their commitment to having a more productive relationship with the Ministry.
The Minister of Technical and Higher Education, Prof. Alpha Tejan Wurie, welcomed the Ambassador and expressed his appreciation to the Embassy for supporting training in the Midwifery Sector and training of post-graduates in various fields of study through some of their sponsored agencies, urging them to expand their support, especially to the Technical Wing of the Ministry of Technical and Higher Education. He mentioned the Ministry's challenges in terms of practical needs, soliciting support in the appropriate training of tutors, industrial training of interns, provisions of materials and equipment etc.
