The Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Program through the Ministry of Technical and Higher Education is inviting applications from suitably qualified Sierra Leoneans who wish to pursue UNDERGRADUATE and POSTGRADUATE Courses under the following fields of study in Hungary: -

The Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Program through the Ministry of Technical and Higher Education is inviting applications from suitably qualified Sierra Leoneans who wish to pursue UNDERGRADUATE and POSTGRADUATE Courses under the following fields of study in Hungary: -

REQUIREMENTS FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME

Students applying for undergraduate (BA/BSc) studies have to possess certifiable secondary education; students applying for graduate (MA/MSc) studies must have an adequate and appropriate Bachelor’s (BA/BSc) degree; whilst students applying for full doctoral (PhD/DLA) studies must have an adequate and appropriate graduate (MA/MSc) degree.

APPLICATION CRITERIA

1.     Applicants for the Undergraduate must not be more than 25 years of age; those for the Postgraduate Master’s must not be above 35 years of age and not more than 40 years for Ph.D. applicants.

2.     Upload a study plan/research proposal minimum of 500 words for postgraduate students only

3.     Interested applicants must use the Ministry of Technical and Higher Education (MTHE) website (www.mthe.gov.sl) to apply

4.     One-page typed motivation letter.

5.     Completed application form with all supporting documents should be submitted to the Ministry’s website on or before Tuesday 26^th November, 2024.

PROVISIONS COVERED BY THE SCHOLARSHIP

1.     Tuition fees

2.     Monthly stipend: Monthly amount of HUF 43,700 (cca EUR 120) contribution to the living expenses in Hungary for every month, until the completion of studies

3.     Accommodation contribution

4.     Medical insurance

Please bear in mind that the above provisions are only a contribution to the living expenses of the scholarship holders. It means that it does not fully cover all costs of living and students need to add their financial resources to cover all living expenses whilst in Hungary. 

Also, awardees of this scholarship will have to PURCHASE AIR TICKET FOR THEMSELVES. All applicants are highly advised to check the expected living expenses both in Hungary and the city that they wish to live in before applying for the scholarship
