Fourah Bay College Holds Annual Graduation Ceremony

The University of Sierra Leone's Fourah Bay College, the oldest university in West Africa, has held its annual graduation ceremony, honoring the academic achievements of over 1,800 students. The ceremony, held at the college's prestigious grounds, was a grand celebration of academic success and the culmination of years of hard work and dedication.

The event was graced by notable dignitaries, including the Minister of Technical and Higher Education, Dr. Haja Ramatulai Wurie. In her address, Dr. Wurie commended the graduates for their academic achievements and their commitment to their studies. She emphasized the importance of education in shaping the future of a nation and encouraged the graduates to use their knowledge and skills to bring about positive change in their communities.

"As you prepare to embark on the next chapters of your lives, take pride in your accomplishments and the knowledge you have acquired. Your graduation symbolizes not only personal success but also the collective achievement of our university community," she said.

Dr. Wurie also highlighted the challenges faced by the university and the education sector in general. She commended the university for its resilience and innovative approach in adapting to the ever-changing landscape of education, and expressed her confidence in the graduates to be the leaders of tomorrow in these challenging times.

The graduates, representing a diverse range of academic disciplines, were awarded degrees and certificates in various fields, including law, engineering, and the arts. Their academic achievements were recognized and celebrated, serving as a source of inspiration for future generations of students.
